So, I try the demo or trial version and also LE can't find the Digi 001. Pro Tools will start to load, but I can not authorize it because ILok is not found. I also (in order, insalled from the posted links the CS6 plugin update, the CS9, the documentation and the InterLok Driver Installer) plus unchecked the "automatically restart" tab and there are no crashes. I had the reboot issue but the latest PACE driver took care of it, thanks. I bought a new Dell PC (Dimension E510) and installed the latest WinXPSP2 and installed Pro Tools LE 6.4 from the setup. Ok, here is the latest update on 9/19/06. Hopefully you'll find some more clues that will narrow down what's causing the STOP error. If you find one that was caused by something obviously PACE or Digi, double-click on the event and check the description. Uncheck all boxes except Error and search for errors. There are two places to check: Applications, and System. In the Computer Management window, look under the Event Viewer. One other thing: Right-click on My Computer and select Manage. If you've tried the PACE drivers as others have suggested and you're still seeing the BSOD, then it's probably time to look at the RAM. What's your RAM configuration? Are you doing anything like overclocking or messing with the RAM timing in the BIOS? Can you supply your configuration details? It could be a bad RAM module, or misconfiguration. Well, for starters, a 0x0000008e appears to be either driver related (makes sense in the context of the PACE compatibility issue the others have mentioned) or memory related. After talking BIOS and other things, here is the stop message I receieved on the blue screen (I assumed these are all zeros instead of "o") Okay, so I followed your suggestion about the automatic restart. If you get another virus/trojan, just bring back the last system drive image made before the virus/trojan and all you will lose is 10 or so minutes of your time and the data/changes you made since the image file was created. If you don't have a backup/imaging program like Acronis TrueImage or Norton Ghost, before you do anything else, make that investment and then do daily image files of your system and audio drive. If this doesn't work, the only other thing I can think of to try is starting from scratch, formatting your system drive and reinstalling Windows. Reboot and verify that Pro Tools is still working properly. Install the ASIO Driver, WaveDriver and MP3 Option and, if you removed them, the Free Bomb Factory Plug-Ins. Reboot and reinstall JUST Pro Tools 6.4 plus cs6 AND cs9 AND the latest PACE Driver. Use Norton or similar to clean up the Registry. The Display Name Value will be “Digidesign Pro Tools LE”įor 6.9 the key is It will be different for 6.4, just look for the Display Name. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall Check the key even if Pro Tools is gone from Add/Remove Programs. Using Regedit, manually remove the key for Pro Tools if it still remains in Add/Remove Programs. Search for the file dalwdm.sys and delete all occurrences. Use Add/Remove Programs to remove the PACE Driver OPTIONAL: Use Add/Remove Programs to uninstall the Digidesign Shared Plug-Ins and the Free Bomb Factory Plug-Ins. Also remove the ASIO Driver and WaveDriver if installed. Uninstall Pro Tools using Add/Remove Programs - when asked, remove Pro Tools AND the Drivers (second option). Then uninstall Pro Tools LE completely and the PACE driver. If that doesn't help revert back to the saved image. VERY IMPORTANT: Make a backup image of your system drive, then remove SP2 using Add/Remove Programs.
